CALLED CHURCH CONFERENCE FEBRUARY 26, 2012: During the Wednesday evening service of February 15 an announcement was made that our Deacons recommend we have a called Church Conference Sunday February 26 after the morning service to hear a recommendation regarding guidelines for the selection of the Pastor Search Committee.  Your Deacon officers, with the help of other Deacons, have reviewed and PRAYED about the suggestions provided by the church membership and are ready to make their recommendation.  Encourage your class/department members to be present for this called Church Conference.

LITERATURE READY FOR DISTRIBUTION: Sunday School literature for March, April, and May will be in the classes/department Sunday.  Out of date literature can be taken to the Sunday School Records Office for redistribution.  Please take extra literature for March, April and May to the Sunday School Records Office to help cover the shortages in other areas.  If your class/department is short of literature please make a note on the attendance marking sheet.  Literature distribution should be done by the leadership team or class/departments members.  Many times teachers feel they are totally responsible for getting the literature out of the class/department and into the hands of members and visitors.  Teachers, ask for your team or class/department members to help.  Remember to include your visitors in the list of those receiving literature.

VISITING OUR HOMEBOUND: Some of our adult classes are looking for ministry opportunities.  One area of great need is keeping in contact with our homebound.  A visit to these members will bring hope and encouragement to them.  Many of these homebound have been faithful attenders for years, some have served in leadership positions.  This is one of those ministry opportunities where you will find you were a blessing to the homebound but you walk away knowing that you were the one with the greatest blessing. If interested, please note your interest on the attendance marking sheet or contact the church office.

HOME PRAYER GROUP: Our next Home Prayer Group meeting is planned for February 20 at the home of Jimmy and Darlene Swetnam. This is a great time for the church family to gather, share prayer requests and pray for those requests. The fellowship and dessert time after the prayer time are  great, but the prayer time is the main event. Mark it on your calendar Monday, February 20 at the home of Jimmy and Darlene Swetnam.

FRIENDSHIP MEAL: Tuesday is our monthly Friendship Meal for the community.  Our Singles, Young Adults, and Adult 1 are the lead groups for this ministry this month.  Others have made this ministry one that they look forward to each month. There will be a place for you to serve.  Remember, Tuesday evening 6:00.

RECORDING VISITORS NAMES and MAKING THE CALL:  Every Sunday we are blessed with visitors in our Sunday School class/departments.  Let’s be ready to greet these visitors and make them feel wanted and needed.  Let’s write on the attendance marking sheet their name, address, and contact numbers. These things are all necessary to make the followup contacts to our recent visitors.  It is important to have the plan in place.  It is even more important to know in advance who will gather this information.  Let’s have that person enlisted, this is the first step for the class/department that wants to be involving additional people in Sunday School.
