See You at the Pole
History of See You at the Pole A small group of teenagers in Burleson, Texas, came together for a DiscipleNow weekend in early 1990. Little did they know that God was about to move in power. On that Saturday night, the students were broken and burdened for their friends. Compelled to pray, yet not knowing exactly what to do, they went to the school flagpoles and prayed for their friends, schools, and leaders. Those students had no idea how God was using them to birth a movement. See You at the Pole meets yearly on the 4th Wednesday of the month. SYATP has grown to God-sized proportions, spreading around the world. God used the obedience of a small group of teens to start an international movement of prayer among young people. Today, more than two million students from all 50 states and more than 20 other countries participate in SYATP. See You at the Pole is a student-led event, so you may be asking yourself, How can I be involved? The simple answer is to pray. Start praying now for the students of Young County as they join other like-minded students at the flag pole. Pray: For the students who take part in See You at the Pole as both leaders and participants. For the youth pastor/leader of the community as they motivate and guide students for See You at the Pole The non-Christian students that could be reached through See You at the Pole The Christian students in Young County to strengthen their unity on campus all year long For the school administrators to have favor and allow events like this to take place. Pray for the community-wide Saw You at the Pole happening at Memorial Auditorium the night of September 23rd (Speaker: Carlos Francis) Times for Graham SYATP 📅 Wednesday, September 23rd, 7:00am 📍Graham Jr High 📅 Wednesday, September 23rd, 7:00am 📍Graham High School Times for Saw You At the Pole 📅 Wednesday, September 23rd, 6:30-8pm 📍Memorial Auditorium (Block party starts at 5:30pm there will be food)

New Members Luncheon
Membership Matters. The church is essential to God because He has chosen to accomplish His mission through the church. The church is God’s plan. It is important to understand that membership matters. It is essential for us to remember that church is not a place to enter, but a called-out people group. To be a member means that you identify with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It means that you want to be active in your pursuit to be ALL IN. ALL IN on your worship. ALL IN on your spiritual growth. ALL IN on your desire to minister. ALL IN on your calling to serve on mission. Membership is a visible reminder of your commitment to Jesus, but also your commitment to others. Joining the Church will bring scripture to life. The Bible is full of verses that require members to do unto “one another.” Membership says, How can I love and serve you? How can I be an encouragement? How can I come alongside side you and pray? The privilege is being able to partner and walk alongside one another and build a strong caring spiritual family. Here is how you can act! New Members and Prospective Members Luncheon is open to anyone who has joined during the past year or for those interested in learning more about how we function as a church. Have you made FBC Graham your church home or are you interested in making FBC Graham your church home. Come and discover more by hearing from the staff, touring the facilities, and discover how you can serve here at FBC Graham. 📅 Sunday, October 4th, directly after Worship 📍Room B-117SIGN UP FOR THE LUNCHEON HERE!

First Kids Is the Place to Be!
FIRST KIDS IS THE PLACE TO BE! As parents, our greatest hope is that our kids will trust and follow Jesus. It is our goal to partner with you to help lay a foundation in Jesus Christ in hopes that your child will one day trust and follow Jesus. Everything we do at FBC is designed for this purpose. We have a Resource Wall next to the Kids Check In Center with guides that will help equip you as parents. This Week… FOCUS ON PRAYER We often teach our kids to pray for others around them, but this week take time to pray for each person in your family. Write each person’s name on a piece of paper. Place all the names in a bowl. Take turns drawing names. Pray for the family member whose name is on the paper. Three Summer Events Remaining We have three more events left this summer…Click here for more details!

Join Our Evangelism Training – August 1st
It was reported that 1.8 billion people watch the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina. If you Google, "What is the approximate population of the world?" the answer is 8.3 billion, and the math will say that 1.8 billion is 21.69% of the world's population. Which means over 21% of the world watch a soccer match where the score was 1 to 0 and wasn't scored until the 106th minute of the game. Unless you are from Spain or Argentina, you probably didn't care which team won or lost. Every four years, the World Cup is played and how many previous champions can you name, along with the years they won? I couldn't name a single winner and the year that team won. Why am I mentioning the World Cup? Because, as exciting as the game may have been, its outcome held no eternal significance for most of those watching. According to SBC statistics: 4.5 million people attend an SBC church. Of that 4.5 million, only 2.6 million participate in small group study (Sunday School). The 4.5 million in weekly attendance represents around 1.29% of the U.S. population. A soccer game can gather 21% of the world that will watch an event for several hours, yet only about 1.29% of Americans gathers each Sunday to worship the King of Kings. One event no eternal consequence… the other eternal consequences. Over the past 19 years, the membership of the SBC has declined. Churches have close their doors, and membership rolls remain full of people who never show up. There are several factors that have help contribute to this decline, but one the greatest may be our failure to faithfully share the gospel. The ALL IN Challenge has not stopped. One part of the challenge is for each of us to have one gospel conversation every week. Lifeway Research has reported: 27% church members rarely pray for evangelistic opportunities to share the gospel. 13% church members are not eager to talk about Jesus with others. 8% church members say they engage in conversation more than 11 times a year. 26% SBC churches recorded 0 baptisms in 2023. These statistics reveal both a problem and the answer. Why are so many churches ineffective in evangelism? It is not because we lack the necessary tools, opportunities, or ability. We are surrounded every day by people who need Jesus. The answer to our evangelism problem is not another program alone. The church must renew its commitment to personally and faithfully share the gospel. Maybe you struggle with the thought of evangelism. Perhaps you feel nervous. Perhaps you feel unprepared. Perhaps you are uncertain about what to say. Or maybe you simply need to refresh your approach to sharing the gospel. Evangelism Training 📅 August 1st 🕙 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 📍 Fellowship Hall On August 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, Oza Jones Jr., Director of Evangelism for Texas Baptists, will be here to provide practical evangelism training. We live in a world shaped by pluralism, universalism, and secularism—a culture that increasingly believes Christianity should remain private and silent. However, Jesus has not called His church to remain private or silent about the gospel. He has commanded us to go and make disciples. Evangelism does not have to be as difficult as we sometimes make it. We do not have to possess every answer or deliver a perfect presentation. We simply must be willing, prepared, and obedient—trusting the Holy Spirit to work as we faithfully share the good news of Jesus Christ. Join us on August 1st from 10:00am - 12:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall as we learn how to faithfully and confidently share the gospel.

All In Challenge: Praying for our Nation
One of the benefits of the All In Challenge is that for seven days, not only have we been praying, but we have been praying together. As we move toward the end of summer and into fall, we are moving forward together in prayer. WE HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR... Our Nation, Graham, first responders, compassion, mercy, church’s ministries, spiritual awakening in our hearts, the families of FBC, and the preaching of the Gospel. We have been engaging in daily prayer for the past several months. It is my prayer that, over these past several months, your prayer life has been flourishing and that you have been experiencing a deep connection with God. One way to prepare yourself for prayer is through confession of sin, knowing that there is forgiveness of sins. We confess our sins and receive forgiveness because Christ atoned for our sins. Confession helps the believer to walk in a way that says, “I am all in for Christ.” Galatians 5:16 “I say, then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh.” Today, Ask the Lord for forgiveness of sin. Ask the Lord to fill you with the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord for power to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. PRAYING FOR A SPIRITUAL AWAKENING This week is a special week in the life of our country. We are not only celebrating our freedom, but also celebrating 250 years of being a nation under God. Our prayer for America is spiritual revival. Like most of you, I love 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” We understand this verse was an Old Testament promise to Israel, but this verse still speaks today to the New Testament church. As God’s people, we know that all Scripture is God-breathed and used for teaching. Every Christian can learn from this passage. As God’s people, we are to humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face, and turn from evil. Sounds easy. Notice the call on the people of God is no different than the call on the church. Today, the church is called to live with humility, to have a hunger for God (prayer and worship), and to live out holiness. As Christians, we are to walk humbly before our God. Every Christian should have an understanding that we contribute nothing toward grace. Therefore, He alone deserves all the glory and honor for our salvation in Christ. What America needs today is grace. As Christians, we are to have a hunger for God. In our All In Challenge, you have been challenged to pray seven days a week. What is truly incredible is not that we are praying, but that God hears our prayers. He hears our prayers for revival and our desire to see God do something that only He can do. He hears our prayers of repentance and confession. God will not bless America unless we turn from our wicked ways. We hunger for God through worship. Worship is not something we simply check off our to-do list. Worship is entering the presence of God and experiencing His presence. It is expressing love to God for who He is and for what He has done. Worship is an encounter with God. Lastly, we are called to live out holiness. Repentance leads to a heart change. A heart change leads to life change. Holiness comes by repentance. Repentance is turning away from sin and turning toward God. Although 2 Chronicles was not written to America, that does not mean that America cannot profit from Christians showing humility, seeking God, and pursuing holiness. As you pray this week in light of 2 Chronicles 7:14, pray: God, we humble ourselves before You. We confess our sinful ways before You. We pray for the power to turn toward You and You alone. We pray that we would seek Your face today. This week, pray: God, be gracious and merciful to America. God, awaken your church to experience the next Great Awakening. God, hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our land. This Sunday, July 5, we will not have Sunday School. Instead, we will all be in the gym celebrating with a church-wide breakfast during the Sunday School hour. Bring something to share, and let’s have a great time of fellowship and food. We will still have worship at the regular time, 11 AM. See you Sunday!

Help SERVE in our Kids Ministry!
Serve with us We are looking for faithful volunteers to help serve our preschoolers during Sunday School and Worship. You can help serve in various classrooms, such as bed babies, 1’s & 2’s, and 3’s; or you can choose to serve outside the classrooms at the Check In Counter or as a Door Greeter. These are vital roles in our Preschool Ministry and as a volunteer you get to walk alongside parents, helping invest in their child’s faith development. First Baptist is blessed to have preschoolers show up every Sunday, which means every Sunday someone will be blessed by the interaction and the opportunity to tell preschoolers God loves them. This is an awesome opportunity to plant the seed early with our preschoolers. Do you have a passion for His children? If you said yes, then we need you!Volunteer Here

The BIG Meal Fundraiser
Two years ago, I went to a Christian worship conference with my family called Passion in Atlanta, Georgia. Now, for those of you who don’t know what Passion is, it’s a conference for thousands of students 18–25 years old that calls them to live for what matters most, “the name and renown of Jesus.” Passion believes that our generation will be used to change the climate of faith around the globe. And every year, they equip these students through a series of sermons, talks, worship, prayer, and encouragement, all throughout the course of 3 days. It was at this conference on January 3, 2025, that God began to lay on my heart the need for a young adults ministry in our city. I had just graduated a semester prior, and I was engaged to my beautiful wife Vivian, who was moving from the Metroplex, a place that had plenty of young adult ministries. I also had a brother and friends who had recently graduated and seemingly had nowhere to really connect with people their age. It was painfully obvious once I graduated that our church, and this city as a whole, did not have much for people our age. At the very first quarterly business meeting of 2025, we proposed starting a young adults ministry, and I had the pleasure of pouring out what God had laid on my heart at Passion. 4 months later, we had our first service for what we now call “Catalyst.” Taking Catalyst to Passion Passion 2027 takes place February 5–6, and we want to take our ministry there. To give them the opportunity to grow and build relationships, to strengthen their faith, to worship Him, to not just encounter God and know Him more, but to do it alongside thousands of other young adults their age. Here is where we need your help We would like to cover the cost of travel, hotel, and admission for the young adults going to Passion with our church. And we have an opportunity for you to help us make that happen! The BIG Meal Fundraiser Directly after worship on Sunday, September 13, the Catalyst group will be hosting a meal in the Fellowship Hall (B-117), with all proceeds going toward our trip to Passion 2027. Whether you’d like to eat at the church or get it to go, both options are available! Menu Pulled Pork or Chicken Baked Potatoes Green Beans Chocolate sheet cake The Price? Just a donation of any amount. So mark your calendars, make your lunch plans, and we’ll see you for lunch September 13! Want to Learn More About Passion? Introducing ETHOS: The Pursuit of Ethical Living
Hey Catalyst Family! I pray you all are enjoying your well-deserved break. I hope it has been a blessed time of recharging and refocusing on our mission to experience and be a catalyst for change in Christ. I've missed you all and just wanted to remind you that we will be getting back together on 📅 June 25th (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. We will be beginning our new summer series called Ethos: The Pursuit of Ethical Living. The world is changing rapidly. We live in an ethical minefield filled with moral dilemmas. Topics such as politics, government authority, AI, scientific and medical advancements, and more pose numerous questions for Christians. How can we navigate these new challenges and an ever-changing landscape while maintaining a way of living that glorifies Christ? In this series, we will tackle these various modern-day moral dilemmas while learning what Christian ethical living is, its purpose, and its application to today's moral challenges—as well as future ones. Let's pursue Christian ethical living and be catalysts for others to do the same.

Our Visit to God’s Love From A Diaper Bag
God’s Love From A Diaper Bag This ministry, God’s Love From A Diaper Bag, was one we had previously shared a video about regarding their ministry and how we at First Baptist Graham could help. See here to learn more. A few weeks ago, Patsy Dollar and myself were able to travel to meet the McPeek’s and learn more firsthand how the ministry operates, what their needs are, and how we can continue to help them. Meet Bessie and Lester McPeek Bessie McPeek, also known as the diaper lady, serves with her husband, Lester, as Mission Service Corp Missionaries in the Appalachian Mountains. Bessie, a divorced mother with three small children, understands struggle, poverty, despair and feelings of hopelessness. When surgery was needed to remove a tumor, she applied for welfare so she could care for herself and her children. To earn her welfare, she began working at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. During this difficult period, God gave her the idea of making homemade lollipops. She sold thousands of these lollipops to schools and churches so that she could take care of her family as well as put her children through college. It was through this personal struggle that Bessie got a unique insight into the plight of young mothers. To help meet their needs, God’s Love From A Diaper Bag was founded. Along with the bags filled with diapers and supplies, Bessie offers encouragement and hope to mothers. It was through her surgery that Bessie praises God as she now has compassion for those in need. She uses each opportunity to show mothers and families they are not alone, God is always with them. Many times over the years of their ministry, Bessie and Lester’s faith has been tested. When supplies would be low, they prayed for resources and supplies, waited, and God would provide. God has given Bessie many opportunities to share about the ministry, speaking at churches, on various television broadcasts, newspaper or radio interviews, and WMU groups. She has seen many times how the power of prayer can work wherein God would supply the need at just His right time! Bessie's faith in God was tested in February 2003. With no resource to support the diaper ministry, she knelt at the altar at Faith Baptist Church in Myra, Kentucky and whispered a prayer, “Lord, please let me know if You want my ministry to continue. If not, I will go anywhere, do anything for You. You just let me know”. Two days later, she received a call requesting an interview for an article for the Appalachian Regional Ministry newsletter which reaches eleven states. The next week, SB Missionary, Bill Barker, told her story to a lady in Kershar, SC, who asked if she could help a ministry center in Appalachia. Just one of the many times God answered Bessie and Lester’s prayers! As they have experienced God’s transforming power through their ministry, Bessie and Lester have learned to view each new day as an adventure with Him. Each day they ask: “God, what person are You going to put before us today? What situation can we help with?” They want to show people the amazing love of God and how He has blessed their lives while spreading God’s love from a diaper bag. A Ministry That Reaches Beyond Diaper Bags Bessie and Lester’s agenda was full of good works: hosting baby showers for women from a lower income community (as many as 30 ladies at a time) mission house repairs VBS activities for children in subsidized housing visiting a nursing home and a jail ministry At the showers, they share how God loves the unborn. They shared His love with expecting mothers and made sure they have what they need to welcome a baby into the world. In each bag, a mother receives: clothes blankets diapers necessities a Bible the plan of salvation and bears tagged with John 3:16 and John 14:6 from FBC Graham (when available). Our Visit to the Ministry From the minute we opened the car door, we felt loved and very much family! Immediately, we were given a tour of the mission which houses groups who come to serve alongside Bessie and Lester. The main room is filled with diaper bag supplies along with sewing machines, ironing boards, fabrics, patterns and sewing notions. Each week a group of ladies meet to learning to sew making things for their families as well as items for the diaper bags. After seeing the facility, we sat down to enjoy a nice visit with Bessie and Lester hearing countless stories from how God brought them together to God providing ways for the ministry to keep going. On Saturday, we had the opportunity to: help fill diaper bags take them to the local hospital and see where they are kept until a mom with a new baby goes home…. always with a diaper bag filled with necessities from God’s Love From A Diaper Bag Ministry. Along with the diaper ministry, they also provide backpacks to hundreds of school age kids in several counties. We decided you cannot out give these people! Many times people ask if they can donate something (bicycles, clothes, etc) and the answer is always yes. They use whatever they have to bless others. More than once, Jessica and I heard stories of how they voiced a need only to God and within days/weeks, He had answered. So many answered prayers!!! God is at work all over the world. This trip was a great reminder of that! God is using Bessie and Lester McPeek’s deep community roots for Kingdom impact and it was a pleasure for Patsy and I to get to visit and share in their ministry.
